Prairie's Edge is currently closed to the public as the property is being restored and rewilded.

Prairie's Edge will be home to a few different habitats by reintroducing native plants and wildflowers, thus increasing the biodiversity of our region. These efforts will improve environmental quality in the greater Rockford region, including the Kishwaukee River.
Project Education
Unique to our local area, the process of restoring a former golf course into a nature preserve is unique. As such, this is an opportunity to educate our community on the process of habitat restoration. Click the buttons below to learn more!
Nature Center
Prairie's Edge will feature a nature center. Currently, the former golf clubhouse is being renovated to include multi-use meeting and education spaces, as well as land management equipment and office space. These building plans are not yet public. Stay tuned for updates.
