Join us for a Guided Hike or Experience

Get outside with Severson Dells staff and volunteers on one of our many guided experiences. Come prepared to be awed by the beauty of the wild areas of northern Illinois.

Private Groups


If you are interested in arranging a private group stroll or hike, please complete the form at the bottom of this page and a staff member will respond as soon as possible. 


We also offer guided tours via golf cart for those with accessibility concerns. These tours are limited to 3 guests due to space on the golf cart. If you're interested in scheduling a golf cart tour, this must be booked in advance. Please fill out the form at the bottom of this page or call 815-335-2915 for assistance.

Cancellation Policy

To be eligible for a fee refund or transfer, SDNC requires a 48-hour advance notice for all cancellations. Eligible cancelled registrations can either be refunded or applied to another registration. All refunded registrations are charged an administrative processing fee of 10%. Only in cases of extreme weather or other extenuating circumstances will SDNC cancel a scheduled program. All programs cancelled by SDNC will receive a full refund.


Wildflower Walks

Join us in April for Wildflower Walks in partnership with Natural Land Institute

Private Guided Experiences

Guided strolls or hikes can be arranged for a private group or a corporate group. 


Non-profit groups - $5/person for up to 2 hours, $2/person for each additional hour. Minimum $50/group. 

For-profit groups- $8/person for up to 2 hours, $4/person for each additional hour. Minimum $60/group. 

Golf Cart Tours- $20 for a half hour tour. Limited to 1-3 people per tour. Cost is based on number of tours, not number of guests.
