Restoring the former Elliot Golf Course

We're embarking on a new adventure!


Severson Dells Nature Center has a unique opportunity to expand nature education opportunities for the community and improve over 160 acres of habitat in northern Illinois.


The former Elliot Golf Course located just east of I-90 and just south of East State Street in Cherry Valley, IL represents an opportunity for significant urban natural area restoration & expansion of nature education programming for the Northern Illinois region. Severson Dells Education Foundation is purchasing and restoring the property to expand nature education, increase the environmental health of Northern Illinois, and increase nature accessibility in Rockford.
