STATUS: Native, “Least Concern”

DESCRIPTION: It can be 22-26 inches long and can weigh between 6 and 9 pounds.

DIET: Forbs, grasses, scrubs, buds, twigs, and bark.

HABITAT: Plains, alpine meadows, scattered coniferous forests.

NOTES: They have several natural predators like foxes, badgers, coyote, bobcat, birds of prey, and snakes. They can run 34 mph and can leap up to 16 feet in length.
