Outdoor Skills (Families): Shelter Building

Many of us recall making forts in the woods when we were kids.  Now is the time to share this fun activity with the next generation!  We’ll head out into the woods and each family will be tasked with making a water-proof shelter that will keep them snug.  We’ll review how to select a building site, the pros and cons of size and shape, and give you tips to help your creation be weather-tight.  All shelters will be dismantled at the end of the program.  Long pants, sturdy shoes, and long sleeves recommended.  Best for families with children ages 6 and up.
