Nature Play for Little Kids
4-6 years old

Designed just for younger explorers,  Fun! Mud! Water! Bugs! Outdoors! “Nature play strengthens children’s self- confidence and arouses their senses, their awareness of the world and all that moves in it, seen and unseen.”

Camp Peek-Into-Creek #1
2nd-5th Grade (2014-15 school year)

date: June 24, 2014 - June 26, 2014 (Tuesday - Thursday)
time: 9:00a - 3:00p

location: Severson Dells Nature Center
cost: $60 per member of “Friends of Severson Dells.”; $75 per non-member. (Multiple sibling discount available).  

Dive into the ecology of stream life; whet your appetite and wet your feet. Take part in the A, B, Sees (appreciation, biology and silliness) of this watery world. We will explore the creeks located at Severson Dells Forest Preserve and Seward Bluffs Forest Preserve. (Campers will be expected to be dropped-off and picked-up at the appropriate scheduled locations.) The camp will be led by a professional staff with a 5 to 1 student to teacher ratio.(Maximum number of campers is 20.)

The camp will end with the legendary creek slosh through the dells in the beautiful Hall Creek of Severson Dells. Early and late drop-offs and pick-ups can be arranged).

Grandparents and Kids Camp
for grandparents and their grandchildren (ages 5-12)

date: July 9, 2014 - July 10, 2014 (Wednesday - Thursday)
time: 9:00a - 11:20a

location: Severson Dells Nature Center
cost$35 for members of “Friends of Severson Dells” for grandparent(s) and one child ($4 each additional child); $45 for non-members for grandparent(s) and one child ($6 each additional child).

Blazing Paddles Youth Canoe Camp 
6th-9th Grade (2014-15 school year)

date: July 28, 2014 - August 1, 2014 (Monday - Friday)
time: to be announced (six hours minimum)

location: Severson Dells Nature Center
cost: $150 

This camp is designed for kids to become more aware of the rivers in our community from an aesthetic, scientific and enjoyable perspective.
Camp instructors have American Canoe Association certification, and First Aid Training, plus years of canoe experience. The camp focuses on teaching canoe safety and skills as well as using the river as a living lab. All canoeing equipment will be provided and campers will divide time on the following waters; Pierce Lake, Rock, Kishwaukee, Sugar, and Pecatonica Rivers .
