Silver-Haired Bat

STATUS: Native, “Least Concern”

DESCRIPTION: Hairs are black with white tips, giving it a frosted or silver appearance. It weighs between 8 and 12 grams.

DIET: Soft-bodied insects like moths.

HABITAT: They forage over still and running water and forest openings.

NOTES: They are slow but maneuverable flyers that typically detect prey from a short distance away. They have a slow reproductive rate.
