This bridge crosses a ravine that drains, in its upper portion, parts of the SEVERSON DELLS FARM cropland and pasture, where grass waterways and an animal waste management system have been incorporated to reduce erosion and potential stream pollution by agricultural run-off.  The bedrock floor of this ravine is a clue that farming was going on here before modern soil conservation measures were introduced.  No other ravine at Severson Dells is as deep or eroded down to solid rock as this one is.
