The Dirt on Dirt- May 26th, 10:00am-2:00pm
It’s all happening beneath our feet! Most of the time we take the ground we walk on for granted, but when you leave this month’s Science Saturday, you will have a much greater appreciation for the importance of soil and what you can do to keep it alive. Come explore and get dirty with us as we dig deeper into the science of dirt!
Life Under Water- June 30th, 10:00am-2:00pm
A healthy stream or pond is full of all sorts of life. Come learn about some of the incredible creatures that inhabit these watery worlds. We have Illinois Natural History Survey scientist, Plan on getting a little wet during some explorations of the pond and stream!
Winged Wonders- July 28th, 10:00am-2:00pm
Enjoy a day all about animals and insects that fly! Learn about the physics of flight and some of the other amazing adaptations of winged wildlife. Hoo Haven will be presenting two programs with their hawks and turkey vultures, one at 10:30am and the second at 12:30pm. We look forward to seeing you out!
Amazing Migrations- August 25th, 10:00am-2:00pm
There are so many animals and insects that migrate great distances chasing ideal weather for their species. Come and learn about a few of the fantastic migrations, why they migrate and how they know where they are going! What if humans had to migrate thousands of miles each year to survive?!?
