STATUS: Native, Migratory, Least Concern

DESCRIPTION: They weigh 0.4-0.6 oz. and have an average wingspan of 7.1 in.

HABITAT: LeConte’s Sparrows live in open, grassy areas such as meadows, marshes, and prairies.

DIET: They eat insects, spiders, and seeds.

NOTES: LeConte’s Sparrows make a sound that is two buzzing noises, one long, one short. They are protected on the US Migratory Bird list.
