Jan. 5 – Boy Scouts – Bird Study
Birds are everywhere, and bird-watching is one of the most popular activities in America! This morning we will learn some basics of bird anatomy (beak design, foot design, types of feathers and their purposes), how to use binoculars, and basic bird identification - what traits to look for to narrow down your choices. We’ll be watching the birds at our feeder stations, and will also look at what foods and feeder types bring in the greatest variety of birds. Each scout will be able to identify at least five common feeder birds when they leave. Register by 1/2.
