Butterflies have long captured the imagination of poets, mystics, and other observers of nature. And there are sound scientific reasons to observe butterflies, as well. Some butterflies rely on certain, very specific, host plants to support their larva (caterpillars) and, as such, can be important indicators of ecological health. If you are attracted to butterflies and would be interested in collecting field data for the Illinois Butterfly Monitoring Network, please attend this informative session, led by Doug Taron of the Peggy Notebaert Museum in Chicago.
Training will be held at Forest Preserve Headquarters. Advance registration is available online.
