Scott Russell Sanders is the author of twenty books of fiction and nonfiction, including Earth Works, A Private History of Awe and A Conservationist Manifesto.  Orion Magazine says of him: “More than any other writer of his generation, Sanders has consistently, and insistently, asked his readers to consider what it means to be a citizen of the Earth.” Kirkus Review calls his work “An eloquent exploration of life and love by a writer with a most inquiring mind and capacious heart.” Among his honors are the Lannan Literary Award, the Mark Twain Award, and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.  In 2012 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of English at Indiana University.
