Presented by David Donahue
Join photographer Dave Donahue for a program about the Grand Canyon. He will discuss the geologic history of the canyon as well as some of the interesting personal histories of people who became legends of the Grand Canyon area. The photographic tour will start with images from the less frequently visited North Rim of the Canyon; proceed to images from the Marble Canyon area and the Toroweap overlook on the South Rim. The bulk of the program will be devoted to images made during two raft trips through the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River which will provide the opportunity to view the Canyon from a different perspective.
Dave has been taken photographs for over 50 years and is an active member of the Rockford Photo Club. His primary interest in photography is creating images of landscape and nature. He attended an Elderhostel photography session in 2001 at Marble Canyon, Arizona and fell in love with the Southwest. He has traveled there once or twice every year since exploring the National Parks, BLM properties, and wilderness areas taking pictures. Call to register 1-815-335-2915.
