STATUS: Invasive, “Least Concern”

DESCRIPTION: Usually weigh 9 to 10 pounds and reach 9-10 inches in height. Color and build varies greatly based on breed or type.

DIET:Meat, with a requirement that 20% of its diet must be protein. They often hunt without intention of eating what they have killed. Their hunting patterns have serious implications on local, native species.

HABITAT: It is a cosmopolitan species that occurs almost anywhere.

NOTES: It is important to keep domestic casts inside as to reduce their impact on native animal populations in your area. They account for 64.8 million bird deaths each year (Cornell Lab of Ornithology).
