Black-throated Blue Warbler (Setophaga caerulescens)

STATUS: Native, Migratory, “Least Concern”

DESCRIPTION: These warblers weigh about 0.3-0.4 oz. and have a wingspan of 6.7-7.9 in.

DIET: They mainly eat insects, but also fruits and seeds.

HABITAT: Black-throated Blue Warblers live in deciduous and mixed forests with dense undergrowth.

NOTES: Their call is “zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo, zee.” They are protected on the US Migratory Bird list.
