Bay-breasted Warbler (Setophaga castanea)

STATUS: Native, Migratory, Least Concern

DESCRIPTION: Bay-Breasted Warblers weigh 0.4-0.6 oz and have a wingspan of 7.9-8.7 in.

DIET: Their diet consists of insects, arachnids, and fruit.

HABITAT: Bay-Breasted Warblers live in coniferous forests.

NOTES:There have been occasions when they hybridized with Blackpoll, Yellow-rumped, and Blackburnian Warblers. Their call is a high “seetzy-seetzy-seetzy.” They are protected on the US Migratory Bird list.
